I'm really not sure what her intentions are with these video reports. If she's just having fun and is doing this to do something with her spare time then I guess she can do what she wants. But if she's using this to promote herself and wants to go somewhere with this than she's doing herself far more harm than good. Many of the comments in her weekly TBs are based in truth. The first thing she should do is pay careful attention to the variations in the pitch of her voice. There are far too many fluctuations which become distracting and frankly, annoying. There's also a bit of Al Gore-ish mannerisms in her speech where her voice rises at the wrong points in the sentece. A smooth, even tone, pitch and volume will be easier on the audience. Vary the pitch only when necessary, for emphasis. Second, she moves her head around too much, which, like the fluctuations in pitch, serve to distract, annoy and turn off. She shouldn't be stiff, but again, steady and smooth will go a long way to win the audience. Next, I'm guessing she's doing this on a shoe string budget, but if she has access to some lighting (key, fill, back light) and higher end audio equipment (as well as people who know how to properly use the equipment) it will easily improve the presentation by a factor of ten or more. It's the difference between a clearly amateur production and a clean professional one. Along these lines, she really needs to pay attention to the background, colors and what ever else she's putting in frame. She should setup a small studio and do it at home if she needs to. She should also be shot from the chest on up instead of the waist up. If she's doing this because she wants people to pay attention to cleavage than she'll never be taken seriously. Which brings me to how she (usually) dresses. I'm not saying she shouldn't, but if she's going to sell sex, then she shouldn't expect people to take her seriously. She needs to dress the part she wants to play. She can still project an image of "sexy script news reporter" but she should stick to high end classy. Finally, the comedic skits should go. Comedy is hard to do because it's subjective and it's hard to be funny and write funny material and present funny material in an amusing way. The comedy bits come off at best as goofy and silly and worst as amateurish, "experimental" and distracting. She should spend that time making the main production better.
