Tintin will probably bomb in the US but in Europe it's huge, everybody knows Tintin.

Yes, combining Unicorn with Red Rackham's Treasrure would be a good thing. Rereading Unicorn for, like, the zillionith time, i was struck by how little plot there is. Tintin buys a model, some people squabble for it, it gets stolen, he finds a parchment, gets the backstory, then gets kidnapped, then escapes and catches one of the bad guys. It's all great stuff, but even if you storyboarded every single frame of the book, you'd still end up with a film that's feels like a starter, not a main course.

What's really pathetic is when these very same fucktards with poorly concealed glee talk about how these movies are going to tank. It's like they want things that they don't understand or know about to fail. Seriously, can human beings betray their own poor self-esteem in a more obvious fashion? You sad, sad bastards.

Here's a news flash for the assholes: even if Tintin goes down the toilet in America, it's going to make a fabulous amount of cash in the rest of the world. I know that's hard to swallow and that you're desperately trying to think up reasons for why American box office is the only box office that counts, but that's just the way it is.

Here is the simple, non rambling story. The tin tin books tell the story of a young cub reporter called tin tin. and his dog called snowy. In herges adventures of Tin Tin, Tin was helped by the grog willing Captain Haddock, two inept scotland yard detectives the thompson twins and professor Cuthbert calculus. Tin tin was created in 1929 and its fans included Charles De gaulle and Andy warhol. The Tv show first aired in france in 1961. and was broadcast in the uk 1962. where it was re-dubbed into english and voiced by peter hawkins. 50 episodes were based on the original books and 5 of which were adapted for the small screen. they all had cliffhanger endings. Peter Hawkins voiced the series, he also voiced Captain Pugwash and the Daleks. Finally in recent years mystery has surrounded Georges Remi's past. ie what he got up to during the war. And as Remi never spoke of it, no one really knows. ie he may have been in the french resistance. we will never really know.

And by that, I mean Herge, creator of TINTIN, comes before George and Steven can create Indy. TINTIN is part of their *history* and it has informed the films they’ve made. Now, Spielberg and Jackson are getting the opportunity to adapt one of their childhood heroes. What can you say about people whose curiosity is so limited that they aren’t interested in what two of the best filmmakers in the world are doing?

Here is another perspective on how popular TINTIN is in the rest of the world. Comparatively speaking, THE LORD OF THE RINGS was an obscure book and no one living outside an English speaking country knew what a Hobbit was before the films came out. TINTIN, on the other hand, is known everywhere in the world. I mean everywhere as in, like, the world, you know? Like the whole planet outside of California, dude.

So all y’all haters just need to stop bein’ inorent ‘Mericans and bow down to the superiority of Belgian Comic Books. Heel!
