on guys, nice to hear opinions expressed this way.

Major props for chucking Indy and The Fate Of Atlantis I loved that game! The cast of this film doesnt inspire me. I've never liked Ben Kingsley in any his flicks (though I appreciate the importance of Ghandi), Mary Kate Olsen has a mountain to climb in terms of being a likeable actress and anyone who calls themselves 'Method Man' deserves a slap.

Still I may check it out at some point on the strength of the likeability in this interview.

I hated Mean Creek, but Peck really stood out. I've been looking forward to seeing this. I was pissed when I found out it's only opening in 6 theaters this weekend, I had already made plans to see it on sunday. Dumb midwest.

at the Edinburgh Film Festival, it was ok but nothing special but killed a bit of time painlessly and had a couple of moments. Same view was held by the two people I saw it with. Wouldn't make a special effort to see though unless there is nothing else on and a bit of a waste of Famke Janssen who is hardly in it and does nothing when she is. That all the boys love Mandy Lane is out on DVD in the UK as it was in my local Blockbuster last week - cover looks gash, is it worth seeing?

I'm not wealthy in the financial department nor in the looks and personality department . Although I do have my own room in my parents house that I have to share with my brother , but if go to the store and buy him a six pack he'll leave us alone for 10 mins . Just enough time for me to work my magic . How about it ? Otherwise FUCK OFF THIS SITE and stop posting in every talkback trying to plug whatever lonely heart whore shite you are trying to plug . Its not the time and most certainly not the place. We may be all ( some of us ) sexless freaks with little to no social skills on this site, who if ever confronted by a real woman would turn into a puddle of panic .......where was I going with this ..... oh yeah ,we may be some or all of these things . But open to internet scams and gullible . We most certainly are not .

sorry but i can't get behind this. i can't feel sorry for nor root for ultra hip drug dealer teen characters who get laid and also have "problems" where they need psychiatrists. loks stupid. plus i was that age in 1994 and in the ny area, it was all gangster rap by then and almost every kid and luckily not every kid was into t anymore like it was in 1991/92.

Where has all the news gone, guys? ...And yeah, I realize it's the fourth of July. I don't expect to see anything new here on a holiday weekend. But granted that, the lack of news posted on this site -- much less original scoops -- is sad compared to the peak of AiCN, circa the Y2K.

I should know, I've spent weeks of my life promoting it. It'll come and go in the blink of an eye, and good riddance. Also, a word of advice to that arrogant little shit Levine...spending your time dissing the (admittedly) mediocre latest work of two filmmakers who have accomplished more than you can ever hope to may make you seem "kewl" to a bunch of disgruntled nerds on a movie websites, but it won't win you any friends in the business. Self-inflated douchebag.
I got banned from Blu-ray.com

It irritating. Here is my post: I am a little concerned with the "amatuerish" news postings on this website. I stumbled across Blu-ray.com by simply typing in the obvious address. Since I had just acquired a player and a new plasma HDTV I was curious about the sites out there. This one seemed ligitimate and professional. I generally like the reviews but am beginning to wonder about some of the "writers". There were three "news" posts today that were particularly suspect. All were posted by "Josh" by the way. The first one I read was about a picture of a box of four Blu-ray discs shipped out from the studio for basic reviews. Why was this a "news" post? I understand that it was the first Universal push onto BRD. That's fine. Post a review. Not a picture of the shipment to your door. This is so bush-league and smacks of amatuerism. I don't get the impression that any professional writer, aspiring or otherwise, would have any need for such a self inflating post. The second post was about a theft of six Blu-ray discs from a retail store. This is the news I get from Blu-ray.com? There are bigger and more news worthy robberies of Blu-ray everyday in the US. I do not come to Blu-ray.com for such random "news" anyway. Can the time spent posting about crimes be spent on actual news about the Blu-ray discs I intend to buy and watch? What a waste of energy. The final post I read today was an "op-ed" piece about Josh's hatred of the movie theater and how much he loves his home theater system. This was far from a hard hitting investigative report. It was a simply editorial about how bad the presentation for Wall-e was at his local movie theater and how the sound on his own home theater was so much better. What does this have to do with anything? What is the intent? To convince Blu-ray.com readers to stop going to the movies because he personally goes to a bad theater in town? It was decidedly one sided and misinformed. Regardless I am curious about the credentials of the writers/critics here. Whose voices are these? Is this site even ligitimate? From the three afformentioned news posts I am beginning to wonder. Is the guy that takes pictures of the studios BD sitting at his door or bashing movie theaters the guy I should trust to tell me about the quality of Batman Begins on Blu-ray? I go to Aint-it-cool for the goofy amatuer posts. I would home I could go to Blu-ray.com for some buttoned down professionalism.

While the performances are decent, there ain't nothing new or special here.

Also Mandy Lane had it's run in the UK earlier this year and it sunk like the bomb of shit it was.

Saying that it was more reflective of post 9/11 Sundance than pre 9/11 NY. Couldn't have said it better myself - it had charm, sure, but overall the movie was simply the latest in a never ending line of indies about a kid growing up over the course of "one magical summer". When you sit down to watch a movie for the first time and keep getting deja vu and saying the lines along with the actors, there's a problem. Mandy Lane was great though, he should go back to horror.

OK, Method Man shows up as the kid's drug supplierwith his HORRIBLE Jamaican accent, "The What" by B.I.G. and featuring Method Man himself is playing in the background. Method Man tells the main kid that this is the new dope song that just came out by the Notorious B.I.G. just as HIS OWN FUCKING VERSE COMES ON. Come on.

Dude it's not an official blu-ray site first of all, secondly it's kind of a big deal that Universal blu-ray discs are in existence now and seeing actual photos of the cases is a cool little affirmation of it; it's something BD buyers have been waiting for for a loooooong time. Third, most theaters in the US, even ones with THX-certified reference audio like the Arclight in Hollywood use the lossy SD DVD-grade Dolby Digital audio tracks on the left side of the film strip. Blu-ray's lossless audio put this completely to shame and the author said just as much in the article. The author explained that quite well and it's not just a matter of opinion. Lossless trumps lossy every time. So they have OP ED pieces there OH NOES WERE GONNA DIE.
