i wish i knew why joan allen did this movie. or, why john toturo did transformers. is it a ploy to stay relevant after a career slump? is it $$$? greasing the hollywood wheels for a better project down the line? Hate that this may be a watered down R rating... Love to see Ian do a Deadwood-worthy cussing fest on the big screen. CAN'T YOU SEE MY DILEMMA???

Number 1: It upsets me to see Ian McShane and Joan Allen were tricked into being in this.

Number 2: Why the fuck does Anderson keep getting to make movies? How is this happening? His success is offensive to me. His resume is filled with a laundry list of shitty movies that failed on a conceptual and a directorial level. FUCK YOU ANDERSON.

Is a surprise? Just because you did something good on HBO doesn't make you some huge star thats going to get great offers left and right. Peter Krause back to TV, Sarah Jessica Parker only does stuff releated to Sex and The City, James Gandolfini not really doing much, Louis CK still not famous, Nick Stahl still has the same career as before, Clancy Brown ditto, Timothy Olyphant is probably getting mad about getting asked questions about Transformers, Molly Parker back on TV, the list goes on. Fucking Ian McShane was in Hot Rod. I'm just glad people noticed that his voice makes for a good bad guy voice (Polar..Coke..I mean Golden Compass and Fat Panda). Too bad Keith David never got such luck.

I'm glad so many people like the Japanese poster better. The new one looks totally bland, all CGI nonsense, but the Japanese one looks kick-ass. However, I wouldn't say Stallone looks like he's about to cry. To me it looks more like a DeNiro "Yes you do" face. You know the one I mean.

Well one thing is for sure you wont be getting my hard earned cash for this one. They totaly sucked out all of the fun and " we are not taking this too serious " greatness out of the first one and giving us shit. Why did THIS need a "big floating heads" poster?
by Big Dumb Ape
Jun 27th, 2008
12:46:15 AM
I really miss the days when posters were more creative and artistic -- this whole "big floating heads" motif has just gotten to be so fucking tiring. Does ANYONE working in graphic design in Hollywood have ANY creativity left?

For that matter, why the hell did this even need a big floating heads type poster? What, is someone passing through the mall and seeing it REALLY jumping up and down and saying "Oh my gosh! The new Jason Statham movie!" (or for that matter reacting to anyone else in this?) When you come down to it, the only ones who really would be reacting strongly WOULD be die-hard Jason Statham or action movie fans, and they would be seeing this ANYWAY.

Just seems to me that this was a case where you could have opened up the marketing a bit more and done some cool visual with the cars racing around or exploding or whatever and in the end had a much more bad ass poster that might have gotten other people excited, or at least a bit curious. Which last I checked was the whole freakin' POINT to having a great graphic poster!

out loud: "Timothy Olyphant is probably getting mad about getting asked questions about Transformers" just cracked me up. I think someone asked me that once when I talked about Live free or Die Hard. And someone went "Yeah he was in Transformers right?" frankly I don't know who that guy is but he can't act that is for sure. But anyway thanks Series7 for the laugh.

What's with all these posters with big dumb faces of the stars on it, give me a poster like Platoon or anything that has had some thought or a miligram of originality, even something simple like Layer Cake but no instead we get Meet Dave just a bigass picturee of the unfunny Eddie Murphy face we've now grown to hate.
