Interesting, a talkback that automatically repels spoilers - now that IS a technological break through.

Anyway, what that said was:

1.) three original cast members do something, and 2.) that thing that one guy did that one time will be totally explained.

3.) "What" is used in the dialogue

Very true NP. I want to see Locke up there almost as bad as I wanted to see my ugly self up top. But I couldn't resist. Never had a 1st post here. Just wish it wasn't this one. You think they can mix up post order with the link "Quote"?

It was funny..I went to click C2C and hit AICN on accident - and saw the new post up.

Once the Ep ends...we definitely need a new poll in Room 23...what line would you like to see up for the next 8 months?

From the clips...I like Kate's "We get to leave the Island?" or Jack's "Do NOT go back to the Island" or with it's simplicity..."Goodbye John"

Wonder how long it'll take this TB to hit 10,000?

A couple of us frequent fliers from this season are doing a lot of writing in Room 23 and maybe don't get here as much (Pa, Node, RB, NP, and myself). But such a noble goal. Gotta do my part. The tough part is around Sept when other shows start up and there is other stuff to get in to...to maintain the chat for a show that is months away still from coming back. But - we shall see.

And I'm willing to bet that the last scene of the ep will be Locke emerging from The Orchid...with SNOW falling (and maybe a polar bear lumbering into frame!). Either that...or it'll be so far back in time that it will CAUSE the crash of the Black Rock through its sudden 'materialization'. You heard it here first, kidlets!

Apparently actors have some input into what catagory they want to compete in and Michael Emerson nominated himself in the Supporting Actor category.

And don't call him the star of the show while Brighteyes is around. It's all about the Jack.

My emmy Thoughts
by Miyamoto_Musashi
May 29th, 2008

Emerson is constantly delivering the best performances on Lost, he really has no competition there and for me delivering one of the best perfomances on TV. Though given LOST's format and amount of central characters can't see any of them getting best actor, so supporting is fair. Michael "Dexter" Hall should take out best actor.
3 Years!?!?
by franchy
May 29th, 2008
04:41:01 AM
I'm a little confused about something... The first sentence of this article reads: “Lost” showrunner Carlton Cuse confirmed recently that Claire’s son Aaron is aging normally -- and that something like three years has transpired since the 100 days Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Sun spent on Dharma Island. So 3 years has passed since the 100 days the Oceanic 6 spent on the island? However, we know that Oceanic 815 crashed on September 22nd 2004. And during Ben's most recent flashback where he meets Sayid, shortly after he comes back from the island, the lady in the hotel tells him it's October 2005. How were they gone 3 years?

An Emmy for Jeremy Davies? For best guest performance in a drama I assume.

... in the Juliet-centered episodes, did they definitively say that all the women impregnated on the island died, or that all the women impregnated on the island *and tried to deliver while there* died? I ask this, because the former--- if it were true--- could pose some interesting possibilities for the Oceanic 6 to find allies at the beginning of next season. These allies could potentially assist them in getting back to the island or simply provide them with some vital information about the Dharma initiative. Does anyone know what stance the writers took in the episodes where this was discussed?

The "TTLG" TB last year was amazing, a great accomplishment that truly demonstrated how great of a show Lost is.

However, when you set a world record for eating the most M &Ms you dont think "alright, I ate 597 M&Ms without puking, now I'm going to try for 598". We've already accomplished that.

I think we need to show our appreciation another way. What, do we aim for 10,001? 11,000? I think it's time to set a new record, show our love another way. Any ideas.

They will find that only a month or so has transpired. Maybe even less. It's been made painfully obvious that time on the island does not flow at the same rate it does in the normal world, so why would you even suggest that the Island folks will be 3 years older when Jack returns?

That makes sense, maybe Kate is taking care of something Sawyer says before leaving the chopper. It will be interesting to see if Desmond, Jin and Michael all make it off the freighter. I would go with Ben because of the way Jack is crying when he reads the obit. With Ben gone so is his best chance of finding the island again.

In any event, there are jails there, supplies, etc, and no one has gone over there one way or another. My question is this--is there anyone on Island #2? Shouldn't Island #2 be moved as well? I say that Island #2 is just as important because unlike every other place where Island #1 gets accessed, it is easy to leave #1 and go to #2 and vice versa. Is this because of the close proximity or something more? On another note, why was Bat Manuel so annoyed by Locke's responses? Was he threatened? Angry? He certainly seemed shocked. What did that mean?

Didn't Alias suffer after the 1 or 2 year time-jump? I was never a big fan of that show, but it seemed to me that the show was never the same after that.

...but I can't say how.

Anyway, it was fantastic!!! The acting reminded me of the last episode of season 1 and the first episode of season 2 (tremendous Emmy material). Some of the "spoilers" are NOT correct -- including some of the darkufo spoilers. In fact, most of the spoilers left out the most important plot elements! Obviously, the studio was trying to figure out just WHO was the spy/leaker.

Anyway, this finale is FANtastic! I don't know if I can wait to see what happens next season. This one has more lasting impact than last season's great fast forward episode. It is poignant, heart-breaking, sci fi-rific and extraordinarily eerie! The coffin scene was...unexpected!

If LOST doesn't earn the Emmy for BEST DRAMA, BEST WRITING, BEST SOUND, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY and BEST ACTORS -- then the Academy is far too political. Season 4 -- culminating with this great finale -- has been the best season for a TV show since...uh...ever!

I think SMAKFU is kinda close with his theory, although I think they are already on the island and I’m betting that at the end of the episode after the oceanic 6 leave the island and all of the remaining survivors are sad, Jack and co. will all come out of the woods where they’ve been hiding and yell SURPRISE! Because they’ve been back for awhile and they were hiding so as not to meet the younger version of themselves. To back this up when Ben shot Locke and left him to die in the Dharma death pit who saved Locke? WALT! and something like the next episode Locke told someone that Walt saved him and that he seemed older! Could he be 3 years older??? We’ll see.

Actually, ALIAS' decline started *before* the time jump, when the writers got tired of the SD-6 double agent plotline (arguably the hook of the show) mid-season. The time jump was just a cheap way to hit reset, rather than a sensible plot driver.

I watched a DVD of it with a friend who obtained it from a friend who obtained it from someone who could get into big trouble (or, at least, they said that they would get into trouble).

This episode was fantastic! As far as I know, it was a completed episode. The score was tremendous, and it even ended with the huh-boom-"LOST" scene.

I read some of the spoilers last week, but they weren't all correct (while some strangely were). I don't want to give ANYTHING away, but this was a great episode. I will watch it again tonight (or course) and make sure that what I saw was the same. However, I can safely say that the show will take on a whole new angle next year (it will have to). And I am surprised at how close some of the theories have been ... and how well the powers that be have kept this from getting out. Good stuff!

And Darlton already said that this season's finale wouldn't have earth shattering plot twists. My bet is that we will only see how the O6 get off the island, why they are keeping things secret (Abadon probably threatened them), and the island will disappear from the present time period (whisked off three years into the future). The biggest reveals that we could be treated to are: 1) Who was/will be in the coffin? (It's now looking more like Michael.) And 2) Is Danielle really dead? (Was that Danielle's corpse partially buried, or somebody else -- perhaps The Others' therapist who was married to Goodwin?)

Sl ate article by Juliet Lapidos (!) argues that this has been the best season of TV's best show due to the flash forward gamechanger. Somemwhat amusing, the best pert is her recap of the first three seasons:

"1) Are there other people on this island?

2) There are other people on this island.

3) Oh, my God, the other people on this island are way mean!"

Someone else replied "wtf are you talking about?" or words to that effect. It was a reference to the NBC television series "Heroes".

You never struck me as humorless, Nodecode, and there's nothing wrong with not getting a reference to a secondary guest character on a series you don't watch.

As someone who collected superhero comics for 49 years, I could almost leap to the assumption that you're not a comics fan, but really, "Heroes" is not even the best example of that genre on current TV. (Medium is.) I like "Heroes" and don't consider that to be an example of bad taste, but then I've enjoyed an awful lot of pretty crappy comics in the last half century too.

Edshrinker, I don't want to pick on everything you say and roon de vybe for you - we all Lost luvvers here.

But technically a three hour season finale canNOT be the best two hour season finale you ever saw. Well, at 42 minutes per hour, three hours of broadcast TV with the ads trimmed out would clock in at two hours if you trimmed about six minutes, but they're not going to do that - instead the rerun of Pt. 1 of the finale will be adding a minute or two of additional "Oceanic Six press conference" footage.

However, I certainly agree in spirit that tonight will be the best freaking three hour season finale EVER! And probably better than most or all two hour season finales, too. So there's that.

His work with Carol Burnett and Mel Brooks alone qualifies him for the comics pantheon.

No disrespect meant, but THREE HOUR LOST SEASON FINALE! And I drove out to Radio Shack and picked up my TV digital to analog converter box so I can continue to use the 4 TVs I already have after the industry switched to digital next year and still watch TV even after I can't afford cable any more. (got it just a couple days before my coupon expired.)

And I just bought my first $40.00 fill-up ever. (My last fill-up was $33.00 - I don't drive much).

My cat's affectionate, I got cookies and there's time to go make a couple olive burgers before the show starts.

So for today and the next few hours at least, it's fucking great to be alive and life is good.

I'll mourn Harvey Korman... and Earle H. Hagen and Alexander Courage and Sydney Pollack some rainy day when I can find time. Right now is not the time. I'm too happy to be sad. New LOST!!! Whooo!

The Walt / Abaddon connection
by Maniaq
May 29th, 2008
07:58:19 PM
I'm really starting to like the theory they are the same guy. I resisted the idea at first coz it's a little convenient, but both Walt and Abaddon seem to have a special connection to Locke - it's flimsy, I know, but still within the realm of possibilities...

Also, I think I know how S5 is going to start - just like S1, only no plane and it's a different island...
