"Scully..." "Mulder..." A New TV Spot for THE X FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE Hits the Tubes!
Every time we get a new trailer or commercial for Chris Carter's new X-FILES movie, I have to pinch myself until blood pools around my fingernails just because I'm into the rough stuff. Then I get excited by the fact that there's new X-FILES on the way! If this is possible, then ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: THE BLUTHS is possible... FREAKS & GEEKS: LINDSAY WEIR IS A DEADHEAD is possible... QUINCY IN HAITI is possible... everything I loved that went away too soon can be revived! It's like I'm Jeff Zucker: Re-Animator!
What's especially cool about THE X FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE is that, according to Carter and co-writer Frank Spotnitz, it's going to play like a standalone episode (which I always liked better than the mythology episodes anyway). The boys have been making the rounds over the last few months, and they seem pretty pleased with the film. Though the geeks have been a little preoccupied with THE DARK KNIGHT this summer, once it's out of the way, I fully expect that a lot of us will quickly divert our attention to Mulder and Scully. I'm so happy this movie exists. Please don't hurt my soul like Eddie Murphy.
